Mixed recycling service launched
Neales Waste Management’s latest service sees the introduction of a dry mixed recycling service initially utilising standard 1100 litre wheelie bins. With landfill tax set to reach £56.00 per tonne next year, businesses across Lancashire will be seeking cost effective and sustainable solutions for their waste collections.
The new service means that cardboard, office paper, newspapers and magazines, plastic bottles together with aluminium and steel cans will be able to go in the one bin. Once collected, the material will be delivered to the Clayton Hall MRF where the different commodities will be separated. As long as the materials are not contaminated by other wastes, they can be recycled into new products, and by doing so, saving valuable natural resources.
Progress to date has seen the existing recycling collections routed onto two dedicated days per week (Tues/Thurs) in order to minimise the levels of contamination. The Blackburn operation has recently taken delivery of new, re-branded containers which clearly advertise the service in white lettering along with a dark grey colour coded lid for “mixed recyclables only”. The new general waste containers will continue to have the red lid to help customers segregate their waste easily and conveniently.
The service will gather pace over the coming weeks with the production of new marketing literature to help promote this new and improved service. For more information call us on 0845 644 6404 or fill out the online enquiry form.
