Neales cuts idling time
Neales Waste’s only interest isn’t just with waste recycling but also the effects that collecting the waste can have on the environment. As a result of this drivers have been tasked with reducing their engine idling time by turning off their engines when not needed; this can save in the region of 2 litres of fuel per hour. The driver who cuts his idling time by the most is heralded the Vehicle Idling Champion for the month and trades in their normal yellow hi-visibility vest for an orange one so that everyone is aware of their contribution.
Blackburn Depot Manager, Lee McKenzie said “Small initiatives such as this can have such a big impact and it is important that all companies do what they can to help with their carbon footprint”.
